Tesla's German factory has hit a new weekly production mark. On Friday, October 23, 2026, Tesla's official manufacturing account on X said Gigafactory Berlin had built 7,000 Model Ys in one week, calling it "the next production milestone" (Tesla Manufacturing on X). Tesla's Q3 2026 Update had already reported record production at Berlin, and the same paragraph lists Canada among the markets where Tesla delivered a record number of cars (Tesla Q3 2026 Update).
What did Tesla announce about Giga Berlin?
A one-line milestone. Tesla's manufacturing account, which posts updates from Tesla's factories, said on Friday afternoon that Berlin had built 7,000 Model Ys in one week and that the ramp-up there is "in full swing" (Tesla Manufacturing on X, Oct 23, 2026). The post doesn't say which trims were built, which markets the cars are going to, or which exact days the week covered.
Tesla Manufacturing: "This week we hit the next production milestone: 7,000 Model Y built in one week."
How does 7,000 a week compare with Berlin's capacity?
In the manufacturing table of its Q3 2026 Update, filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on October 21 (Form 8-K), Tesla lists Berlin's installed annual capacity for the Model Y at more than 375,000 vehicles. Running at 7,000 a week every week of the year would work out to 364,000, so the new weekly figure is close to what Tesla says the plant can do. Tesla hasn't said whether it will keep building at this pace.
The update also says Tesla wants to raise production "across our factories" because of strong demand, and that battery availability is still limiting how fast it can increase vehicle output overall.
What does it mean for Canadian Model Y buyers?
Tesla hasn't connected this milestone to Canada, so I won't either. What Tesla has said is that Canada set a quarterly delivery record in Q3, in the same paragraph where it reports record production at Berlin (Tesla Q3 2026 Update). Tesla's Canadian Model Y page doesn't say which factory builds the cars sold here, and Tesla hasn't posted anything about Canadian delivery times since the milestone.
If you're ordering, the estimated delivery date in Tesla's design studio or the Tesla app is the number to watch.
