Charging
Supercharger cost per km.
Supercharging is for road trips. Here's the maths for the Model Y Standard, using its published 15.4 kWh/100 km and current Canadian Supercharger price ranges.
| Charging at | Price per kWh | Cost per 100 km (15.4 kWh) |
|---|---|---|
| Supercharger, low | $0.30 | about $4.62 |
| Supercharger, high | $0.55 | about $8.47 |
| Ontario home, ULO energy only | $0.039 | about $0.60 (+ delivery, fees, HST) |
Supercharger range from NeoCharge and TSLNA (2026). Prices are per site and time of day; the Tesla app shows the exact rate before you plug in. Winter consumption is higher.
Tips
- Use off-peak Supercharger hours where offered.
- Charge to about 80% on trips; the last 20% is slow.
- Run your home costs in the Ontario charging calculator.
I film all of this on my own 2026 Model Y Standard. Watch on The Electric Standard on YouTube.
