Tesla opens its Robotaxi service in Fort Worth, Texas, with rides starting at 6 a.m. Monday inside a launch zone that covers downtown

Tesla announced it late Sunday night with a map of the launch zone. It gave no fleet size, prices or vehicle mix. Robotaxi still isn't offered in Canada.

Tesla's Robotaxi service has a new city. In a post on X at 12:36 a.m. Eastern on November 2, 2026 (11:36 p.m. Sunday in Texas), Tesla's official Robotaxi account wrote: "Robotaxi available in Fort Worth starting tomorrow, 6am." The post came with a map titled "Fort Worth, TX" showing a single "launch geofence" around the city's core.

What did Tesla announce?

Tesla's Robotaxi account posted "Robotaxi available in Fort Worth starting tomorrow, 6am" on X late on Sunday, November 1, Texas time (Robotaxi on X). Because the post went up at 11:36 p.m. Central time, "tomorrow" means Monday, November 2. Robotaxi is Tesla's own ride-hailing service, booked in the Tesla Robotaxi app, where the car drives itself inside a set zone.

Where in Fort Worth can you ride?

Only inside the zone on Tesla's map. The map, titled "Fort Worth, TX", shows one blue outline labelled "launch geofence". Downtown Fort Worth sits inside it. The outline runs out to White Settlement on the west side and up toward Saginaw in the north, and its eastern edge reaches Haltom City. Benbrook sits near its southwest corner. A geofence is the boundary a rider has to be inside to book a trip, so anyone outside that area can't hail a car yet.

Tesla's post doesn't say how many square kilometres the zone covers, how many vehicles serve it, whether they're Model Ys or Cybercabs, or what a ride costs. Some trackers and outlets have put numbers on fleet size, but Tesla hasn't, so we're leaving them out.

Where does Tesla's Robotaxi program stand?

Fort Worth follows a busy few weeks. On October 26 Tesla's Robotaxi account said a "bigger service area" was live in Houston (Robotaxi on X), and on October 29 it said operating hours are now 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. (Robotaxi on X). Tesla's Q3 2026 Update, filed October 21, said it had begun putting Cybercab into its Austin fleet and had reached nearly two million cumulative unsupervised Robotaxi miles by the end of September.

Does this change anything in Canada?

Not directly. Tesla doesn't run Robotaxi in Canada and hasn't announced plans to. What Canadians can buy is FSD (Supervised), which Tesla Canada lists at $99 a month. Tesla says those features "require active driver supervision and do not make the vehicle autonomous" (Tesla Canada). A new city matters here mainly as a sign of how quickly Tesla is widening its driverless service in the U.S.
